Nil Battey Sannata - Trailer Review

Trailer Appeal - 5/5

Absolutely stunning! I don't remember, when was the last time when I was so eager to watch a film. Nil Battey Sannata picks up a plot, which is very realistic yet rarely shown in Bollywood. This film doesn't have traditional characterization of Hero / Heroin but very well defined realistic characters.

How a parent (Swara Bhaskar), who isn't well educated nor well to do but has great dreams for her child. Ria (A Newcomer) is playing the role of child who just wants to have fun in life. Pankaj Tripathi as the mathematics teacher cum principal who is hated simply because kids hate mathematics. Phobia of mathematics among kids is also shown beautifully with song "Maths mein dabba gul" :D Ratna Pathak Shah as the educated owner where Swara Bhaskar works as Bai. For Swara, her Didi is the only source of worldly wisdom. Again this is something very common in Indian households. Any advice given by these owners means so much to household help.

Thank you Anand L Rai for making such a different refreshing film. Ashwini Iyer Tiwari is a new debutante director who has directed some short films earlier. Bollywood ReviewsNow wholeheartedly wishes the team of Nil Battey Sannata good luck and eagerly look forward to release date 22nd April 2016.

Some of the dialogues which touched my heart:

1. Ria (wants to become a bai like her mom and says): "Is desh mein to bachon ko apna career decide karne ka freedom hi nahi hai"

2. Ria to her mom: "Agar main metric pass bhi ho gayi to teri haisiyat hai mujhe aage padhane ki"

3. Ria to her friend: "Meri maan apne sapne mujh par thop rahi hai". To which fer friend replies: "Wo apne sapne tum par nahi thop rahi. Uska to sapna hi tum ho appu"

4. Principal (Pankaj Tripathi): "Inko admission chahiye, Kahan?"
